On the obverse of the coin in the center of the circle formed by the bead pattern, there is an image of the small State Emblem of Ukraine framed in branches of viburnum. Each of them has five leaves and three clusters of berries. The top cluster consists of seven berries, the middle one - of five, the bottom one - of six. Above the emblem is the date 1995 - the year of coinage, under the emblem - in two lines in a circle there is an inscription of 200,000 RUBLES, which indicates the nominal value of the coin (the number 200,000 is placed in the gap of points). The inscription NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE between the outer edging and the bead pattern at the top of the circle is separated on both sides from the word RUBLES by dividing marks in the form of rhombuses.

On the reverse of the coin in the center is an image of the obelisk to the hero-city of Sevastopol, built on the high coast of the North Bay in honor of the feats of the soldiers of the Separate Maritime Army, Black Sea sailors, people's militias, fighter and cadet battalions, which for 250 days - from November 1941 to July 1942 - heroically defended the city from the German fascist invaders. To the left of the obelisk against the backdrop of the sea waves, as a sign of the continuity of the heroic traditions of the city, there is a monument to ships scuttled during the Sevastopol defense of 1854-1855. On the right are three rows of sea waves and above them is the silhouette of a modern warship. In the circle of the inscription coin at the top of the CITY HERO SEVASTOPOL, below under the pedestal of the obelisk 1941-1945.
