The obverse of the coin depicts crossed anchors and a ship's cannon, symbolizing the city as a naval port and fortress, and stylized grapes and leaves under the cannon; at the top is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and a semicircle inscription - the NATIONAL BANK of UKRAINE, at the bottom - TEN griven, above the nominal value - 2008, and also the designation of the metal, its sample Ag 925, the mass in purity 31.1 and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The reverse of the coin depicts the Count's Quay (below), a fortification, above which is the emblem of the city and the inscription in a semicircle SEVASTOPOL, on the right against the stylized sea is the legendary brig Mercury and below the inscription YEAR OF BASIS / 1783.
