Obverse
The obverse of the coin shows the bell tower (1821 - 1848) of the Assumption Cathedral, at the top is the small State Emblem of Ukraine, on the left is the denomination of 5, on the right is the inscription UKRAINE, below the inscription is HRYVEN and the coin minted year is 2004. Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Reverse
The reverse of the coin shows the city’s calling card - the building of the State Industry (Gosprom), built in the style of constructivism (1928), at the top left - the emblem of the city, at the bottom there is an inscription KHARKOV • 350 years.

Dedicated to one of the largest industrial, scientific and cultural centers of Ukraine, the city of Kharkov, founded around 1655 by Ukrainian Cossacks - immigrants from Right-Bank Ukraine as a fortress to protect Sloboda Ukraine from predatory attacks by conquerors.
