The obverse of the coin in the inner circle on a mirror background depicts the small State Emblem of Ukraine, crossed divers (Kleynod colonels in the Cossack army) framed in oak wreath, the year of coinage 2001 and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine. Circular inscriptions are placed in the outer circle: UKRAINE, 5 griven.

The reverse of the coin in the inner circle shows an equilateral cross with extended ends framed by a laurel wreath, in the center of the cross is a medallion depicting the small State Emblem of Ukraine; in the outer circle - circular inscriptions: THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE, 10 years.
