The State Academic Theater named after Yevgeny Vakhtangov is a drama theater in Moscow. The theater has been counting its history since 1921, when a play staged by Evgeny Bogrationovich Vakhtangov “The Miracle of St. Anthony” was performed in the building on the Arbat. In 1922, the Vakhtangovites played the premiere of Princess Turandot, which was destined to become the theater's hallmark for many years. In the twentieth century, the Vakhtangov Theater was directed by legendary directors and actors: Ruben Simonov, Evgeny Simonov, Mikhail Ulyanov. Since 2007, the artistic director of the Vakhtangov Theater is director Rimas Tuminas. The theater tours a lot in Russia and abroad. The performances "Eugene Onegin", "Uncle Vanya", "Masquerade", "Smile at us, Lord", "Mademoiselle Nitush", "Minetti" and others are especially in demand among viewers from different countries.
