Description
Dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the most powerful, original figures of Ukrainian art of the late XIX – mid XX centuries. Vasyl Krichevsky, who had a universal talent: he worked in architecture and painting, worked on the design of books, theatrical performances and films, designed the national emblem of Ukraine, the seal of the state, paper money and stamps of the UPR, thoroughly knew folk art, was deeply aware of world art, was able to teach and constantly studied himself. Drawing inspiration from the creative work of the Ukrainian people, Vasily Grigoryevich Krichevsky left behind a significant legacy – there is no field of art in which the creative influence, the all-round individuality of the artist would not manifest itself. In many of them, he acts as an innovator and creator of the Ukrainian national style.
