On the obverse of the coins there are: left-small State Emblem of Ukraine, to the right of which the inscription UKRAINE (vertically), under which is the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine; in the center - a stylized composition: the Energy-Buran rocket-space system during take-off; on the right: face value - 2 / GRIVNY and the year of coinage - 2018.

On the reverse of the coins there is a portrait of Valentin Glushko and at the bottom there are inscriptions in a semicircle: VALENTIN GLUSHKO and the years of his life 1908 - 1989.

Dedicated to an outstanding engineer, one of the pioneers of rocket and space technology and the creators of the reusable space-rocket system ʻEnergy - Buran`, academician of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of Sciences Valentin Petrovich Glushko (1908 - 1989). The engines created by an outstanding designer raised and lifted into the air planes, space ships, launch vehicles. Valentin Glushko - the author of more than two hundred scientific papers on rocket and space technology, in particular engine-building, laureate of State Prizes, was awarded the gold medal named after Tsiolkovsky.
