On the obverse of the coin, against the background of the expanded book, there is a university building, above which is placed the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the inscription in a semicircle UKRAINE; below - the year of coinage 2005 (left), in the middle in two lines - 2 hryvnia and the logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the reverse of the coin there is a composition containing an image of a monitor with a keyboard, an airplane and a book, over which there is an inscription of 75 years; M.E. Zhukovsky `KhAI`.

Dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Kharkov National Aerospace University. Zhukovsky, whose history is directly related to the development of the aviation industry and science. This is the only higher education institution, on the basis of its own design bureau of which aircraft were developed under the guidance of Professor I.
