Description
Yuri Vladimirovich Nikulin (1921-1997) - People's Artist of the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR. In 1946, Nikulin entered the clowning studio at the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, after graduation he worked as an assistant for the famous clown Karandash for two years, then for many years he acted as a clown with his constant partner Mikhail Shuydin and his wife Tatyana. Together they came up with many funny and interesting clownets and interludes, often finding plots in real life, thinking them out, sharpening them on the funny. In 1982, Yuri Nikulin took over as director and artistic director of the circus. Nikulin has starred in more than 40 films. These films are still loved by viewers of all generations: "The Diamond Arm", "Prisoner of the Caucasus", "Operation Y", "Come to me, Mukhtar!", "Twenty Days Without War", etc. Cinema is also impossible to imagine without Nikulin, like the circus. Yuri Vladimirovich was an actor of the epic genre. He could be an eccentric artist in films, he could be dramatic, but he never played mean, evil people. His heroes - funny people - have always evoked sympathy and love. For many years, Yuri Nikulin hosted the "White Parrot" program on television, where many famous people gathered, told jokes and funny stories. Since 1992 Nikulin has been the Chairman of the Board of the Peace Foundation. In 1997, Yuri Vladimirovich created the Circus and Mercy Charitable Foundation to help veterans and young circus performers.
