On the obverse of the coin at the top there is an inscription UKRAINE, under which is stylized a gilded page (local gilding) of the Supral Irmologion (1598–1601) - the oldest notolinear manuscript, sources of the liturgical heritage and music of the Kiev Church, which is kept in the National Library of Ukraine named after. I. Vernadsky; to the left of the page - the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which the year of minting is 2020; denomination 20 UAH (to the right of the page).
On the reverse of the coin, in the center, there are three-dimensional figures of choristers who sing according to notes, a fragment of the icon “Exaltation of the Holy Cross with the Family of Jan Sobieski” (1670–1689), which is kept in the Andriy Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, filled with a certain rhythm, and placed: stylized inscriptions: COLLECTION / CHURCH SONGS / IRMOLOGION (above) and notes (under the image of the choristers).

Dedicated to the legacy of the Ancient spiritual song tradition that reigned since the end of the 16th century. throughout the ethnic territory of Ukrainians and Belarusians, - to notated collections of different genres of liturgical singing - Irmologions. In the Irmologion, the first notated book, irmos were collected as melodic and rhythmic models for the troparia of the canons, hence its mass distribution - both in church practice and in educational. Words in a poetic text are strung on a thread like pearls in beads, alternating like motives of an ornament. Irmologions consisted in monasteries, cathedrals, and parish churches. A significant part of the surviving Irmologions is handwritten. At the beginning of the eighteenth century. printed music irmologions began to be published.
