Director Leonid Nosyrev shot the cartoon "Antoshka" in 1969. The picture was published in the first issue of the children's film magazine "Merry-go-Round", in each issue of which two or three drawn short films were shown. The plot of "Antoshka" is based on a children's song about a lazy boy. Its text was written by the poet Yuri Entin. In his youth, he worked for a while as a history teacher at school, and his real student became the prototype of Antoshka.
The music for the song about Antoshka was composed by composer Vladimir Shainsky. The composition was first broadcast on the TV show "Good morning", where Entin and Shainsky turned a few months later. It was performed by the children's choir "Sputnik".
