The obverse of the coin contains: the inscription UKRAINE (at the top in a semicircle), the small State Emblem of Ukraine (under the inscription), on both sides of the coat of arms the year of minting is 2020, below the left is the denomination of 10 UAH, in the center there is an allegorical composition - a field of sunflowers, which have long been considered one from the symbols of the Ukrainian land, personify warmth, joy, life; it was sunflowers that became a kind of amulets and saved the lives of many of our soldiers during the fierce battles in eastern Ukraine; on the right in the field, like a wounded warrior, is a large sunflower with a broken stem. The logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine is placed below.
The reverse of the coin depicts a large sunflower flower that symbolizes Ukraine: at the bottom, a teardrop-petal with tamga - Crimea, on the right, two curved petals - Donetsk and Lugansk regions; inscriptions: 29.08. (on right); in a circle: DAY OF MEMORY (above), FALLEN DEFENDERS OF UKRAINE (below).
