On the obverse of the coin there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine (above), the inscriptions: UKRAINE (under the emblem), the denomination of the coin is 5 / UAH (to the right of the emblem); in the center is a symbolic wheel of life, signifying the rebirth of nature: a stylized international sign "Radiation threat", shrouded in leaves, around which animals, whose populations develop in a 30-kilometer exclusion zone, have become a kind of breeding reserve for the reproduction of, in particular, the black stork, Przewalski's horse, lynx, bison, elk, brown bear; in a circle, on a mirrored background, the inscriptions: CHERNOBYL RADIATION AND ECOLOGICAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (left); year of minting - 2021 (below); logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (above).
The reverse of the coin depicts Przewalski's horse (tampon printing was used) against a landscape background, above which the inscriptions on the mirrored background: HORSE / Przewalski / EQUUS FERUS PRZEWALSKII; above - a horse and a foal.
Dedicated to the symbol of the rebirth of wild nature, the symbolic animal of the reserve - the Przewalski horse - the only existing species of wild horses that has survived to this day in its original form, and which is listed in the International Red Book with the conservation status "on the verge of extinction". The coin starts a series of coins "Chernobyl. Revival". It’s a paradox, but a man-made disaster gave nature a unique chance for rebirth, which it took full advantage of. In 2016, on the territory affected by the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the largest and youngest object of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine was created - the Chernobyl Radiation and Environmental Biosphere Reserve. This territory has become a kind of breeding reserve for not only typical, but also rare representatives of the living world from the Red Data Book.
