For the significant contribution of city dwellers to the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, demonstrating massive labor heroism and dedication in the city of Borovichi, the honorary title of the Russian Federation “City of Labor Valor” was awarded. During the Great Patriotic War, the inhabitants of the city of Borovichi, with their shock work, made a significant contribution to the achievement of Victory. There were several dozen hospitals in the city, and hundreds of local residents took part in caring for the wounded soldiers. The city accepted orphanages and cultural institutions evacuated from other places. Industrial enterprises worked hard at the front, providing the front with a wide range of products, including mortars, mines, shells, equipment for marching bakeries and others. One of the largest factories was Krasny Keramik, which produced steel products for the needs of the front. During the Great Patriotic War, 79 Borovichi people who worked at the enterprise were awarded for valiant labor. For the successful implementation of the state grain procurement plan and the provision of food to the Red Army during the war, orders were awarded to a group of party, Soviet and economic leaders of the city. During the Great Patriotic War, the city of Borovichi and its inhabitants made a great contribution to strengthening the country's defensive power, to the victory of the USSR over the fascist invaders.
