On the obverse of the coin there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine (on the right), under which there is a vertical inscription at an angle of UKRAINE; on the left, face value - 10 UAH (vertically at an angle) in the center against the background of concentric circles resembling a target, and a fragment of the topographic image of Babi Yar, resembles trickles of blood, - a stylized composition - the heart is pierced by a bullet; inscriptions: BABIN YAR 1941 (top in a semicircle), year of minting 2021 (bottom).
The reverse of the coin depicts an artistic composition reflecting the tragedy of Babi Yar - anthropomorphic figures supposedly lie underground and personify families shot to death. Above there is an inscription: 80TH ANNIVERSARY / tragedy in Babi Yar.
Dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the tragedy in the Babiy Yar tract in Kiev during the Second World War. From September 1941 to the end of September 1943 it was the place of executions and burials. More than 100,000 people were executed here by the Nazis, whose victims were mainly Jews, as well as Ukrainians, Gypsies, and representatives of other nationalities.
