On the obverse of the coin at the top there is a small State Emblem of Ukraine; a stylized composition - framed by the rays, a mighty oak is depicted (the element of decoration is local gilding), the crown of which resembles the outlines of the borders of our state, and the roots - decoratively reproduces certain stages of the state of the modern history of Ukraine - the UPR, ZUNR, Ukrainian State, Directory of the UPR, and the like; inscriptions: UKRAINE (against the background of the crown of a tree), on a mirrored background 50 and a graphic symbol of the hryvnia (left) and 2021 (right).

On the reverse of the coin in the center is a mosaic image of the Sign of the princely state of Volodymyr the Great - a trident (decoration element - local gilding) in the center, as a symbol of the process of the formation of the state, contributes to the consolidation and development of the Ukrainian nation, its historical consciousness, traditions and culture; below there is an inscription in three lines 30 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE OF UKRAINE.
