On the obverse of the coin there are: at the top, the small State Emblem of Ukraine, under which - the year of minting of the coin 2020; in a square on a mirrored background there is the city's coat of arms, which is reflected in the water, and vertical inscriptions UKRAINE (to the left of the coat of arms), face value - 5 UAH (to the right of the coat of arms), around the square there is a decorative ornament; logo of the Banknote-Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (under the inscription UKRAINE).
On the reverse of the coin, on a mirrored background, there is a composition consisting of monuments of architecture of the city of Lokhvitsa; top right - a stylized oak and plants, symbolizing the picturesque nature; inscriptions: LOKHVITSA (under the plants), 700 YEARS (to the right of the bell tower building), FIRST WRITTEN REFERENCE (below in a semicircle).
Dedicated to the Ancient City with a rich history, located in the Poltava region on the Lokhvitsa River, which was first mentioned in historical sources under 1320 as an ancient Russian village in the Pereyaslavl land. In the middle of the 17th century. the city received the Magdeburg Law and the coat of arms. During the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people, the Lokhvytskaya Cossack hundred, as part of the army of B. Khmelnitsky, took part in many battles.
