On the obverse of the coins in the frame of the Baroque ornament, decorated with the heads of seraphim, there is a small national emblem of Ukraine and inscriptions in four lines: UKRAINE, 5 griven, 1998

On the reverse of the coins there are images of the Assumption Cathedral, which was destroyed in 1941, its ruins and the circular inscription USPENE SOBOR of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the XI century.
