The obverse of the coin depicts a composition that embodies the patriotic, heroic and romantic direction of Fedkovich's creativity - this is a horseman who holds a hatchet in his raised hand, protecting swallows from the bird of prey that hunts for them. To the left of the composition is placed the year of coinage - 2004, under which the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the Mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine, to the right in three lines - a stylized inscription UKRAINE, face value - 2 hryvnia.
The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Yuri Fedkovich, to the right of which there is a stylized inscription YURI FEDKOVICH and the years of his life in 1834 - one thousand eight hundred eighty-eight.
Dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the writer-innovator, poet, ethnographer, folklorist, playwright and public figure - Yuri Fedkovich (1834 - 1888). The son of the Hutsul region Yuriy (Osip) Adalbertovich Fedkovich - a deeply popular artist, one of the leaders of the Ukrainian national revival in Bukovina. In the words of I.
