Suzdal is a museum city, the administrative center of the Suzdal district of the Vladimir region of Russia. It is included in the Golden Ring of Russia tourist route. One of the oldest Russian cities. In the "Tale of Bygone Years" it was mentioned as early as 1024.
In 1967, according to the adopted general development plan of Suzdal, it became a museum city. Suzdal has no equal in terms of the abundance of monuments and the preservation of its original appearance. A large number of monuments of religious and civil architecture of the XIII–XIX centuries are collected here: on an area of 9 square kilometers of the historical part of the city there are 305 monuments of architecture, history and culture.
