Description
The first state in the region was Volga Bulgaria, created at the turn of the 9th – 10th centuries A.D. Turkic tribes. In 1236, Bulgaria became part of the empire of Genghis Khan, and then became part of the Golden Horde, as a result of the collapse of which a new state emerged - the Kazan Khanate (1438). In 1552, the Kazan Khanate was annexed to the Russian state. In 1920, the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was proclaimed. On August 30, 1990, the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of the Republic was adopted. Since February 7, 1992 it is called the Republic of Tatarstan. Tatarstan is a dynamically developing region. The republic is known in Russia and abroad as a center for oil production and petrochemicals, a manufacturer of the world famous KAMAZ trucks and MI helicopters, one of the leaders in Russian agricultural production. People with different historical past and cultural traditions live in the republic. The combination of at least three types of cultural influences (Turkic, Slavic-Russian and Finno-Ugric) determines the uniqueness of these places, the uniqueness of cultural and historical values.
