Description
The Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 - the war of the USSR against Nazi Germany and its allies, part of World War II, ending with the victory of the Soviet Union and the unconditional surrender of German troops. June 22, 1941 Germany invaded the territory of the USSR with the expectation of a rapid military campaign, but met with strong resistance from the Soviet troops. The war dragged on for several years and ended in the complete defeat of Germany. On May 8, 1945, an act of surrender was signed. The Soviet Union suffered tremendous human and economic losses, but its victory in the Great Patriotic War, which was so expensive, played a decisive role in the defeat of Nazism throughout the world and predetermined the outcome of World War II.
