Description
Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky (1792-1856) - Russian mathematician, creator of non-Euclidean geometry. In the years 1827-1846. - Rector of Kazan University. The discovery of Lobachevsky (1826, published 1829-1830), which was not recognized by his contemporaries, revolutionized the notion of the nature of space, which was based on Euclid's teachings for more than 2 thousand years, and had a tremendous impact on the development of mathematical thinking. He wrote works on algebra, mathematical analysis, probability theory, mechanics, physics and astronomy.
